Latest News – Winter Bites

A real feel of winter has attacked in the past 10 days and has seen some fixtures abandoned Oscar O’scar had the pleasure of travelling all the way to Musselburgh only for the fixture to be called off. I do appreciate that courses try to do their best to race but an 8 hour round trip journey is not much fun.

Closer to home Catterick has passed their inspection this morning and racing goes ahead where we have three runners. Pen Gwen takes his chance in the 2 Mile 3 Furlongs Handicap Chase under our yard conditional Scott Brockbank. As previosuly mentioned I have kept him for the staff to ride as he is a good schoolmaster and enjoys his jumping if he can recapture his form from 2 runs ago should hopefully run a good race.

Mrs Eff returns to the track following a spell on the sidelines and contests the 2 Mile 3 Furlongs Novice Hurdle she has been progressing well and we have her as fit as we can at home the trip may be slightly on the short side for her but due to limited options it looks a good starting point. Finally Foxy Gillian makes her debut for the yard in the National Hunt Flat race she has previously run once in a bumper in Ireland and I am hoping she can build on this run.
